When it comes to hitting a baseball, everything starts with balance. A a balanced hitter is able to stay in control throughout the swing and make more consistent contact. It begins with a solid stance in the batters box. Your feet should be about shoulder with apart, knees slightly bent, and your weight centered. Stay relaxed and keep your eye on the pitcher so you can tract the ball early. As the pitcher begins the motion the hitter should load slightly onto the backside while staying balanced. When the pitch comes take a short stride and let the hips lead the swing generating power from the ground up. Finally keep your eyes on the ball through. Focusing on balance, timing, and proper mechanics will help any hitter make more consistent, solid contact.
